Pioneer to Stop Production of DVD Recorders

The Japanese Nihon Keizai Shimbun recently reported that Pioneer plans to stop production of DVD recorders. Instead the company will procure them from Funai Electric, while Pioneer itself will work on developing next-generation models. This move is part of a broader restructuring within the company, as it is facing mounting losses in the current fiscal year.
